DSB – DeepSouthBoy
Every website or forum has to have a troll; it's just a fundemental rule of the internet. Of course we have one and he goes by the moniker of DeepSthBoy or to us "DSB." Those of you who follow this site are well aware of DSB, the poster child advocate for allowing oversigning. But who knew he was a regular on the Ohio State scout forum racking up 428 posts over there.

2011 Oversigning Cup
Working on an update to the cup standings using the number of players signed. Time consuming process. Hope to have it finished soon. Until then, take a look at the number of players signed for each BCS conference.

What’s the purpose of this?
July 13th, 2010 - 09:07
We felt like throwing DSB a bone…lol
July 13th, 2010 - 16:51
He also trolls the Sporting News going by CrimsonTider. He was kicked off of Bleacher Report for trolling Ohio State threads. He went by Lee Roy Jordan there. He has also commented on Cols. Dispatch message boards.
July 13th, 2010 - 17:05
Just showing how pathetic DSB is. Why would a ‘Bama fan create an account on a Ohio State message board? Michigan fans don’t even do that!
July 14th, 2010 - 00:35
Truthfully, I don’t know, but why would an Ohio State fan create a web site dedicated to put down the (completely legal) recruiting practices of Alabama when the only negative things he has to say are 100% assumptions and innuendo.
July 13th, 2010 - 17:13
It gave Joshua another opportunity to show how pathetic he is.
July 13th, 2010 - 17:40
Sorry, but a ‘Bama fan creating an account on a Buckeye fan page and posting 430 times, is the very definition of pathetic.
July 13th, 2010 - 08:50
just wanted to point out that Henderson has committed to miami. They are currently at 86 with Latwan and Henderson on the outside looking in. So they will have to clear at least 2 players to get Henderson in and 3 to get Latwan in.
One player likely to watch is a kicker they signed a couple years ago, Weiclaw (sp?).
July 13th, 2010 - 19:00
Rumor is 2-3 incoming recruits won’t make the grades, thus freeing up ‘ships for LA and SH.
July 13th, 2010 - 19:47
No, I counted all the non-qualifiers
July 13th, 2010 - 19:49
Miami is at 86 WITH Henderson and Anderson(track)……..and Perry, Glenn, and Davis headed to Prep (Taylor to JUCO).
July 14th, 2010 - 03:36
Did the creator of this site just call one of his main contributers a troll? As I’ve said before, I don’t have an alliance with w/ Bama or OSU (or anyone in the SEC or Big 10 for that matter). But really? I visit many teams various college football forums because I like college football and I love the ‘fandom’. Does that make me a troll or a loser?
I’ve followed this site on and off for a little bit. There is some good info here and there and some useless info here and there. However, this ‘post’ is not only uncalled for but fairly pathetic. In the future, if you’re going to single out a single poster on your site, you should open up the main page for a rebuttal so he can ‘fight back’ for everyone to see. It’s like a 5th grader calling someone names without that person knowing. Immature.
Sorry, I try not to get too into all of this back and forth, but c’mon…
July 14th, 2010 - 07:17
Not by any means. When visiting all of those sites is it your main objective to argue with everyone and anyone about everything or anything because that is what DSB does. He cares more about the arguing back and forth than he does about the topics at hand.
I have noticed that he has cooled his jets here on this site and his last few posts have been pretty tame.
He’s welcome to defend himself here if he wants – I just thought it was really interesting how much time he spends on an OSU message board.
July 14th, 2010 - 08:07
When he or anybody else asks you to name ONE specific case of abuse of a medical hardship scholarship or to acknowledge it when current developments rebut your past innuendo (as when USC acknowledged their accusation about Florida and Alabama contacting one of their freshmen was false) you ignore it. Instead you throw more crap on the wall. Then you do this attack piece. You’re gutless.
July 14th, 2010 - 16:33
There were multiple sources reporting the accusations about Florida and Alabama contacting a USC player, ESPN included so quit saying this site made that up. It was reported all over the sports world.
July 14th, 2010 - 16:53
I didn’t say this site made up the story. Joshua wrote up the story because it included an accusation against Alabama and other schools. Then when the story turned out to be fabricated he said nothing.
July 14th, 2010 - 21:32
The only reason I wrote the story is because the schools that were mentioned were already oversigned for the year and they were relevant to this site.
July 14th, 2010 - 23:22
Actually, the oversigning issue had no relevance whatsoever to the story that was fabricated. An self purported expert on NCAA rules like yourself should know that it would have been illegal for any school to contact a freshman at USC regardless of whether or not they had scholarships available. Only rising juniors and seniors at USC can be contacted and transfer without a redshirt season. But to a man with a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
July 15th, 2010 - 15:47
it actually did because some of the school accused of contacting the athlete/s at USC were already oversigned and needed to still get rid of players. just sayin
July 14th, 2010 - 21:28
I just don’t see anything in here that I should have to apologize for:
“Do any of those schools, especially Florida, Washington or Alabama, strike you as a school that has scholarship room? We know Alabama doesn’t, they still need to shed players. So if the report is true and they did contact Baxter, where the heck were they going to put him, or better yet, who are the going to cut from the team to get him in if he wants to come? Same for Florida and Washington. If these reports are true and there are schools contacting these players, which by the way are elite prospects for the most part, and they can’t prove that there is an opening on the roster at the time they are talking to the players, then they should be publicly reprimanded and denied access to the players. The NCAA has got to come up with a way of managing these situations.”
July 14th, 2010 - 21:29
I never accused anyone of contacting anyone and I never said the reports were true.
July 20th, 2010 - 11:29
no, but the title, “You Must Be Kidding” insinuated it.
July 20th, 2010 - 10:44
Joshua is definitely a Bama-hating POS, but I’ve gotta side with him on this one. While I’m sure he grinned like an idiot while posting the story, at least he didn’t make the story up, like he usually does.
July 22nd, 2010 - 12:43
What about this 5 Star kid Florida just picked up from Cal? The kid has to sit a year, but I’m pretty sure he still counts against their scholarship numbers…
I’m obviously a Bama fan, but this oversigning thing is a bit ridiculous. Does Saban oversign? Absolutely. But it looks like he has to or he would be 10 players short with attrition every year. People get hurt, don’t make grades, etc. If he were to stop at 85 every year and not factor in for kids getting hurt, getting in trouble, not making grades and more, the team would be sacrificing depth. Sure it’s somewhat of a guessing game and there is some gambling going on, but the guy has been coaching a long time and it seems he’s got it figured out. I don’t know of any case where Saban just cut a kid to take a better player. This USC thing was the perfect opportunity to do that if that was the kind of guy he is. USC has tons of 5 Star players and I bet there are a few that would love to come play for the #1 team in the country and try to win a title this year. Did Saban go after them? It sure doesn’t seem so. At some point, you just need to give credit where credit is due and be glad your team doesn’t have to play in the SEC every year.
