   I love the comment of the caller saying a kid who is good enough to earn a scholarship who comes from a wealthy family, maybe the family picks up the bill instead him using the athletic scholarship. That is just comical. Also, they said they are trying to find one case of a kid coming out and saying he got screwed from one of these oversigning coaches. I know Josh has posted many of those articles on this website.

   Nutshell…

   Paul covers for Saban cause he would be lynched for doing anything else

   Bunch of bammers complain about Scarbinski (sp?) and state they are canceling or have canceled their subscriptions to his paper.

   Everyone says it is not a big deal.

   People defend Saban stating either… maybe he really does not know how many scholarships he has OR claim that maybe he is not oversigning due to players potentially on academic scholarship or paying their own way due to affluent families.

   Callers stating that they have never heard about any of this and surely payers would speak out if this was happening (say that WSJ piece says nothing and Paul concurs).

     seriously? Listen to more than 1 show of Finebaum. He alternates between gushing on Saban and then on Chizik. He alienates half the states fan base every day, so that they will all listen to him.

     If its NOT an advantage, why would anyone so adamantly defend the practice?

     More importantly, if its NOT an advantage, but IT IS clearly morally suspect, why would you not want it ended as soon as possible?

   That was a pretty interesting show. My favorite comment was “Coaches should be able to , and I don’t mean to say this in a bad way, get rid of dead-wood”. That was funny. Not really…if you are the “dead-wood”, whatever that means.

   In a nutshell Finebaum is an idiot and supports what ever team in the state of AL by which way the wind is blowing that day. Most of his callers are to blind to see past their own team support and will always lash out against the other instate school even if they supprt the issue just because of their hatred towards one another in that state.
